yingtai, a chinese manufacturer of pos products from qingdao, will set up a european customer service support center in israel next year. yingtai is a leading pos equipment manufacturer in the retail markets in china and europe. yingtai successfully competes with ibm in the market. everyone only notices that ibm has just been acquired by toshiba.
yingtai entered the israeli market in 2007 and was represented by china-israel ltd with leah schkolnik as its general manager. the company's products include pos hardware and third-party software used for retail and large chain store management. in the israeli market, it is mainly sold through taldor (equipment maintenance service provider) in cooperation with large software companies in the retail industry. its customer base covers major large chain stores and numerous small and medium-sized companies in israel, serving customers with annual turnover of tens of millions of shekels (nts).

zhang zhigang, yingtai's manager of the international marketing department, said that we have found great business opportunities in the international market, especially the recent acquisition of ibm pos hardware by toshiba. we have recently been discussing with ibm customers to provide them with alternative solutions. ibm dealers are now in an awkward predicament because toshiba's future intentions are not clear after acquiring ibm pos hardware. many dealers worry that brands that have been operating for many years will be abandoned. yingtai is currently developing a pos product on android platform, which will provide a new pos solution for this fast-growing system.
